Katheryn came from Heather's sister Jane Katheryn Logan.... its a family name. We loved it- and hope that the name will help Katie become a strong young lady. Heather's sister Jane Katheryn is an independant woman whom we admire - and we would love to see our Katheryn grow up to be independant and confident much like her namesake.
Heathers family comes from a long line of "H"'s.....Katheryn's Great Grandmom is Helen, her grandmother is Heidi, Heather and her sister Holly are the third generation H's. In addition, each have a middle name beginning with E..... Well, as much as we love to carry the tradition.......... we decided to stick with the middle name, and change the "H factor"............. and quite honestly we ran out of H names we both liked.
Scott's middle name is also a tradition in his family. His grandfather and dad carry the first name Erland......and scott's middle name is Erland as well (for some reason, mom Gleason did not want to keep the tradition :-) ) Rather than name her Katheryn Erland, we selected a more feminine name- Elizabeth. Starts with an E- so there is SOME tradition carried over. Of course that makes her initials KEG.... which could be foreshadowing, but we hope not! I guess its better than if we named her Hanna Alexis Gleason....... or Guirtrude Ann Gleason. So KEG isnt THAT bad.
